Brian Murtagh provided the gun tractor to tow up the Boer cannon from the Gun Gates, others a Piat bomb for a breech block and Aldershot grenades for propellant and missile.

The debris included a chair fragmented by plastic explosive, plus a hundred broken beer bottles placed there by order of the incoming Adjutant Caffer McCann.
He did not remain as Adjutant, and Fourth Class spent a couple of hours emu-bobbing, bent over picking up glass and woodchips, not really a recommended activitiy for those with hangovers.
