Boer Cannon
Two cannon brought back as trophies from the Boer War were in place at the back entrance of the College, which was therefore known as the Gun Gates. A good place to pick up a lift or RV with a taxi when shooting through.
They served other purposes from time to time - qv the images in Grad 52.
Displayed here by model Bill Fleming, nifty in the new cotton safari jacket

Bicycle
Repco produced a raft of very defective bikes for issue one per cadet to enable mobility around the College to meet the five minute changeover between lectures.
They were a source of many extra drills, as the bikes' numerous defects were very conveniently blamed on their owners.
Displayed by model Bill Hoffman, in traditional horsehair sports jacket and flannel truff.

Centurion tank
Successor to the AASC tanks at the College in the late 30s-early 40s, the Centurion's function was to pleasure the RAAC aspirants.
Behind in the Transport Yard upstairs is the MT lecture room where Claude Ducker distinguished himself by asking MT instructor WO2 Klintworth, who had according to practce scrawled his name in his semi-literate script on the blackboard, who Wokilworth was.
Model Nev Lindsay, in khaki working dress and illegal US gaiters, has just finished scrubbing out the bilges of a DUKW and is pretending he was down there for another purpose.
